Special Olympics Maryland and TopGolf: A Partnership Driving Inclusion

Special Olympics Maryland is proud to partner with TopGolf, an organization committed to making the game of golf more diverse, inclusive, and fun. This partnership exemplifies how inclusive sport training and competition can serve as a catalyst for the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. What starts in a TopGolf bay can extend into our classrooms, workplaces, and communities.

TopGolf and Special Olympics have collaborated to create the Unified Fore Joy ProAm, a unique fundraising event. This event will take place on Friday, September 27th, 2024, at TopGolf venues near you. Teams from corporations, the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics, schools, and community organizations can sign up to participate at over 30 locations throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. We are introducing this first ever event at TopGolf Baltimore, and hope to expand next year to Germantown, and National Harbor— all of which have pledged their support for Special Olympics Maryland and this exciting event.

TopGolf’s commitment to Special Olympics Maryland extends beyond hosting events. We enjoyed an all-staff offsite experience at TopGolf Baltimore, and they were a generous sponsor of our recent Torch Gala. TopGolf Germantown sponsored our Pint Size Polar Bear Plunge and recently hosted an outstanding outing with Special Olympics Maryland – Frederick County and Regenxbio. This inclusive golf experience was a phenomenal time for all participants, topped off with complimentary ice cream provided by TopGolf.

We are grateful for this burgeoning partnership and look forward to hosting our first Unified Fore Joy ProAm at TopGolf Baltimore on September 27th. This event promises to be a memorable and impactful day, bringing together diverse groups to support Special Olympics Maryland.
