SOMD & Maryland State Golf Association Partnership
Special Olympics Maryland was honored to present at the Maryland State Golf Association (MSGA) board meeting and recognize their outstanding support of our golf program with a special thank-you plaque.
Athlete representative John Boasky III presented the plaque to the MSGA Board President and shared his appreciation on behalf of SOMD athletes. SOMD staff members Shelly Bogasky, Michelle Pena, and Mani Madala were also in attendance. Special thanks to Mike Cumberpatch, SOMD Golf Management Team Lead and MSGA Board Member, for coordinating the partnership.
In 2025, SOMD golfers were invited to participate in three MSGA One Day tournaments, with more than 25 athletes taking part. Together, SOMD and MSGA also co-hosted a standalone tournament at Hog Neck Golf Course on July 29, bringing together 40 athletes and partners for a day of inclusive competition.
