Greetings Supporter,

The annual tradition of “Thanksgiving” naturally evokes myriad emotions and memories. Having celebrated Thanksgiving on November 22nd and kicked off the “giving” season on Giving Tuesday, November 27th, I want to share with you reflections on why I am so grateful for Special Olympics Maryland and the ability of our athletes to bring people together.

Riley Roberson

Riley Roberson is a multi-sport athlete from Anne Arundel County who recently earned a gold and silver medal at the 2018 Special Olympics Maryland Fall Sports Festival.

2018 IUS Tennis Championship

On November 7th, 175 student-athletes competed at Loyola University for the 2018 IUS State High School Tennis Tournament as we celebrated 10 years of the IUS program in Maryland.

2019 World Games Athletes

Special Olympics USA will send a 300+ member delegation to represent the country to the 2019 World Games in Abu Dhabi, including four athletes from Maryland: Charles Gaines, Calvin Massenburg, Jena Jones, and Kegan Zimmerman.

2018 Over the Edge

On November 3rd, 92 brave participants raised $1,500 or more each and rappelled down a 16-story building in Bethesda in support of Special Olympics Maryland.
