Greetings Supporter,

Special Olympics Maryland kicked off its calendar of fall sports competition on August 25th with the state kayaking championship, followed by a cycling competition, golf tournament, and tennis clinic on Sunday, August 26th.

Our intense fall schedule includes over 1,000 athletes who will train and compete in kayaking, golf, soccer, tennis, long distance running, flag football, powerlifting, and cycling. Between now and November 1st, every weekend will have a full slate of competition in these sports.

On August 25th, 150 athletes competed for the 2018 Special Olympics Maryland Kayaking Championship at Washington College in Chestertown.

We're just two weeks away from the 2018 GEICO Tunnel Run - join us on September 16th for Maryland's only "underwater" 5K!

2019 World Games Athletes Selected

Congratulations to the four Special Olympics Maryland athletes who have been selected to compete in the 2019 Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi! Representing the great state of Maryland are Charles Gaines (Track & Field), Jena Jones (Swimming), Calvin Massenburg (Track & Field), and Marcus Walker (Cycling).

In September, they will travel to the University of Delaware to train with the rest of Team USA - keep an eye out for more on this story!

The 2018 Health Expo will combine the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes program with additional health and fitness related services, focusing on increasing access to quality healthcare for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
