Save the Date: 2018 Summer Games

From June 8th-10th, 1,500 athletes and Unified partners will compete at Towson University for the 2018 Special Olympics Maryland Summer Games.

This year's theme is #ThisIsMe. If you are competing at Summer Games this year, reach out and tell us about yourself and what #ThisIsMe means to you!

2018 Brackets for Good Champions

Thanks to your support, Special Olympics Maryland is the 2018 Brackets for Good Maryland Champion!

Because of your support, we received a $10,000 grand prize AND over $19,000 was raised for Special Olympics Maryland.

SOMD Athlete Highlighted in 'Everyday Heroes' Campaign

Upper Shore athlete Chris Dooley was recently highlighted by the Knights of Columbus as part of their Everyday Heroes campaign. Chris is a multi-sport Special Olympics Maryland athlete and active Knight.

Why Not States?

In the 2017 fall season, the North County Unified Tennis program was in jeopardy of being terminated.

But two people took a leap of faith and decided to team up and provide a valuable opportunity to the North County student body.

FACTSpecial Olympics Maryland's 50th anniversary is in 2020 - but Special Olympics International is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year! Click here to learn more about the celebration in Chicago and how Special Olympics got it's start at Soldier Field in 1968.

The Harford County Unified Basketball Team celebrated Wawa Day in Abingdon on April 12th. This Wawa Day, marking the 54th anniversary of their first store opening, the 4th anniversary of the Wawa Foundation, and the achievement of the foundation’s four-year goal of donating $50 million to causes surrounding health, hunger, and everyday heroes.

 

 2018 USA Games

From July 1-6, more than 4,000 athletes and coaches from all 50 states will compete in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, Washington.
