Adam Hays Represents SOMD in Paris 2026 Preview

On May 27, 2026, SOMD athlete leader Adam Hays was invited by Special Olympics International to the French Embassy to serve as a moderator for “Partners in Diplomacy: Advancing Inclusion Through Sport.”

The event highlighted the upcoming Special Olympics Unified World Cup in Paris and brought together global leaders to explore how inclusive sport strengthens international collaboration. Adam led a fireside chat with Special Olympics International President & CEO David Evangelista and France’s Ambassador for Sport, Damien Combredet-Blassel, alongside fellow athlete leader Nathan Horton of Special Olympics Virginia, who emceed the event.

It was an incredible opportunity to represent Maryland, experience the French Embassy, and help showcase the power of sport to unite communities around the world. Athlete leaders continue to lead the way—on and off the field.
