Adam Hays’ Health Messenger Highlight
Coming from Frederick, Maryland, I am a Special Olympics Maryland athlete and Health Messenger who competes in 6 sports throughout the year. Some of those sports include Cycling, Alpine Skiing, Swimming, and Tennis. I wanted to become a Health Messenger because it is my goal to teach medical professionals how to better interact with people with intellectual disabilities. Coming from experience as a frequent visitor to see Medical Professionals, my goal is to see those with intellectual disabilities receive the right care with respect and dignity.
