2026 State Basketball Championships
Our Own Version of March Madness Played out at the University of Maryland March 28th and 29th
During the month of January and February we had Basketball league play and qualifying tournaments every weekend, all leading up to our own version of March Madness as our state tournament will be held at the University of Maryland on March 28-29, 2026.
Special Olympics Maryland State Basketball Tournament tipped off on March 28th at 10:00am with Howard County vs. Carroll County on Gary Williams Court. 843 basketball players, 99 teams competed on Saturday and Sunday in Xfinity Center, the Armory and School of Public Health at the University of Maryland. We had a valuable pre-tournament coaches meeting each day that included Ketith Lampel our head of officials who prepared coaches for what to expect from the referees.
