Thank you for volunteering for the 2005 Summer Games.

June 18 & 19 at Towson University.

 Please report to Volunteer Registration no later than 8:00 AM for an orientation and your assignment.

Volunteers will be asked to complete a Volunteer Application and be present at a General Orientation session just prior to being assigned as a volunteer. Volunteers should bring a photo ID with them.

Please use the following directions to parking and Volunteer Registration:

v    Take the Baltimore Beltway I-695 (toward Towson).

v    Take exit 25, Charles Street, south. Proceed approximately 1.7 miles.

v    Turn left on Towsontown Boulevard and proceed to the first stoplight.

v    Turn right on Osler Drive and  FOLLOW THE SIGNS to VOLUNTEER PARKING

v    Turn right onto Auburn Drive (2nd entrance – you will go past St. Joseph’s Hospital on the left and the Osler Medical Building on the right) - FOLLOW THE SIGNS to VOLUNTEER PARKING in Lot 21

v    Follow the signs to Volunteer Registration located in the lobby of Towson Center.  

All volunteers must check-in at the location indicated in your confirmation letter to receive your volunteer T-shirt, lunch ticket and volunteer credential. The volunteer T-shirt and credential should be worn at all times when volunteering. Lunch will be provided to all credentialed volunteers.

Your volunteer T-shirt will be Yellow in color. Please wear light or dark shorts or pants. You should wear comfortable shoes and should also consider wearing a hat and sunscreen. As there is no storage/locker space, please leave any personal items in your car. You may wish to wear a waist pack or backpack to carry any personal items you may need through the day. 

Special Olympics Maryland merchandise will be available for purchase at Olympic Park and various sports venues. We accept Cash, Checks and Visa and/or MasterCard.

In the event of inclement weather, every attempt will be made to have all events proceed on time or as close to schedule as possible.  Volunteers should report at their scheduled time.  A “Volunteer Information Line” with daily updates will be available by calling:

Opening Ceremonies June 17

Please join us on Friday, June 17 at 7:30 PM for the 2005 Summer Games Opening Ceremonies and fireworks. The very family friendly event takes place in Towson University’s Unitas Stadium. Parking is free and the free event is open to the public.
