2016 Athlete Leadership In Review

Congratulations to all of the counties and athletes who participated in the Athlete Leadership Program (ALPs) opportunities in 2016.

It was a really great year. Your support of this program saw our number jump significantly from 2015.

In the past year 162 unique athletes participated in 1162 separate leadership opportunities ranging from speeches, being an emcee, sitting on a county committee, being a captain on a team and advocating in Washington DC to name only a few.

These opportunities were within 318 events with every Area County Program throughout Maryland. That is at least one athlete per program participated. First time ever!

Some program and athletes really stood out and we wanted to give them a special shout out.
