The Law Enforcement Torch Run Relay is an important part of the year-round efforts by law enforcement and correctional officers all across the state.  It is through this relay that they escort the Special Olympics "Flame of Hope", proudly carrying it through towns and communities statewide in order to raise awareness for the SOMD movement and more specifically, the upcoming Summer Games.

The 2010 Torch Run Relay will touch nearly every county in Maryland and we encourage all law enforcement and correctional officers to get involved through your agency, or, if you are a member of the general public, to be there to cheer on the runners as the Flame of Hope arrives in your community.
