Special Olympics Maryland celebrates National Volunteer Week by recognizing the US Airways Do Crew

“The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more.” - Jonas Salk

You might think employees of US Airways spend their time off doing anything other than directing folks in line and providing customer service...however for the past several years a very dedicated group known as the Do Crew have volunteered to help make the Polar Bear Plunge the success it is today. These volunteers “work” the registration lines making sure folks get registered and are all ready to take the Plunge.

The Do Crew, US Airways employee volunteer corps, started as a dedicated group of employees who wanted to get together and give back – while having fun at the same time! Since the program’s inception, employees have given more than 77,000 hours of volunteer time making a difference in their communities. The Washington, DC Chapter of the Do Crew is among the most active group of volunteers who make time to give back.

Next time you are checking in at the US Airways counter or on a US Airways flight, look for one of these dedicated folks and say Thanks for volunteering with Special Olympics Maryland.
