2006 Fall Sports Festival

LOCATION: Mount Saint Mary’s University, Emmittsburg, MD
EVENT FORMAT: One-day competition in three sports – football (soccer), powerlifting and tennis for Special Olympics Athletes and Unified Partners. Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and Special Events celebrate the athletes’ accomplishments. Family activities provide a forum for family and friends of the competitors to meet.

VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are recruited from State Farm Insurance, Mount Saint Mary’s University, Frederick County school system and the local community.

Directions to Mount Saint Mary's College
From Baltimore
Take I-695 to 795 north. Take 795 north to Rt. 140 west (toward Westminster). Follow 140 through Westminster and Taneytown. Take Rt. 15 south. Travel approximately 2 miles and turn left to the Knott Athletic Recreation Complex. Parking will be on the right as you near the Knott Center.
From Frederick
Take Rt. 15 north from Frederick. Mt. St. Mary's is approximately 20 miles north of Frederick on Rt. 15. Turn right to the Knott Athletic Recreation Complex. Parking will be on the right as you near the Knott Center.
From Gettysburg
Take Rt. 15 south toward Frederick. Travel approximately 15 miles to Mt. St. Mary's. Turn left to the Knott Athletic Recreation Complex. Parking will be on the right as you near the Knott Center.
